Phacon offers a specific training system for endoscopic interventions.
It was developed in close collaboration with Prof. Hermann, MD, (Ingoscope Systems GmbH).
A human based artificial skull is used as a base model which can be equipped with different exchangeable modules like nose,
throat, esophagus and trachea. The endoscope is inserted over the nasal cavity past the larynges into the stomach whereat no
human soft parts shall be injured.
Via flexible structures in the model bodily functions like the swallowing movement can be simulated.
The compact parts of the training systems like skull and the bony structure of the nose are constructed using a special cement.
Soft parts like the epiglottis and the esophagus consist of a special synthetic mixture from silicone and latex.
The model is realistically based on the human original in terms of optics and haptics.
